Yard Waste Site to begin scheduled hours

The City of Decorah Yard Waste Site will have set open hours starting Saturday, May 18.. The Yard Waste Site will be open on Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

DHS students earn National Merit Scholarships

Two Decorah High School seniors, Simon Kutz and Anders Lovstuen, are among the Iowa recipients of coveted 2024 National Merit Scholarships.Kutz plans to study international relations. He is a recipient of a $2,500 scholarship. Lovstuen plans to study conservation, and also is a recipient of a $2,500 scholarship.

Vesterheim to remodel downtown Decorah building

Vesterheim, the National Norwegian-American Museum and Folk Art School, purchased a building in downtown Decorah in January of this year, with a goal to support its folk art education programs and operations, including a new forging classroom.
