Billy Huebner, a staple of local wrestling communities, has been an assistant wrestling coach, recruiting coordinator, and Luther Wrestling Camp coordinator for 12 years.
He tested positive for COVID-19 on May 4 and stayed home to quarantine, but his symptoms worsened over time. Five days later, he was admitted to the Decorah Intensive Care Unit where he was stabilized and transported to the Intensive Care Unit at Mayo Clinic in where he remains today.
He is currently battling COVID-related pneumonia and his expected stay in the hospital may exceed three weeks due to heart and lung complications.
A GoFundMe account has been started for Huebner’s medical expenses with a goal of $12,000, which was surpassed in just two days.
