St. Benedict Catholic and the First United Methodist Church will again be hosting this year’s Decorah Area Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 25.
Due to continued safety concerns, the meal will only involve local home deliveries for shut-ins and drive-through carry-outs.
The meal will include turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner roll, cranberry, and pie. Orders for home deliveries or for pickup can be placed starting Nov. 15 through Tuesady, Nov. 23, by calling Linda Moen at (563) 382–5029 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Thanksgiving Day, home deliveries will start at 11 a.m., and pickup will start at noon. All pre-ordered meals will be served first.
Volunteers will be needed at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, to peel potatoes at First United Methodist Church. Volunteers will also be needed on Thanksgiving Day to assist with preparing some of the food; working the delivery/carry-out line; delivering meals to shut-ins; and cleaning up at St. Benedict.
