Holy Trinity Parish of Protivin is hosting the 43rd annual Czech Days celebration Friday to Sunday, Aug. 20 to 22.
Softball and volleyball games, a fireman’s waterball event and music by “Tim the Music Man” are the schedule events on Friday.
Saturday’s events include softball and volleyball tourneys, a bean bag tourney, antique tractor and car show, a performance by the community band in the main tent, kid’s inflatables, bingo, cake walk, “Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchman” band in the main tent, a Czech Mass with Czech Choir, “Tim the Music Man” and “Decoy” in the main tent.
Sunday’s highlights are a Polka Mass with Jim Busta Band with Mollie B at 10:30 a.m., a community band performance, bingo, kid’s pedal tractor pull, Jim Busta Band with Mollie B in the main tent in the afternoon, a cake walk in the afternoon, and parish and quilt raffle and auction in the main tent at 6:30 p.m.
Foods to be served in the community center throughout the weekend include the famous home-baked Czech kolaches and rolickies, ribeye sandwiches, barbeques pork sandwiches, homemade chicken noodle soup, homemade creamed chicken, brats, desserts and more.
