Driftless Multimedia has planned another exciting summer contest to help people get out and explore the Driftless Region, the Bites & Sites Scavanger Hunt! With a new twist, this year’s scavenger hunt has a host of desirable destinations to find by following the clues provided. IN addition to the clued selfie locations, this year offers more ways to win entries at Featured Destinations, where you earn more points for selfies with your snack, sip or swag.
Knowing the vast offerings right here in the Driftless Region, there is no shortage of places to visit and bites to sample – simply follow your feet and hit the road for summer fun.
This year’s Destination Driftless Guide also has a helpful fold-out map to help you plan your trip from location to location to hit the featured destinations. Yup, you’ll still have to solve the clues to hit some of the sites – putting them on a map would be too easy!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt 2023: OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
Using the Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt list, get a photo of yourself visiting locations or completing actions listed. Earn points by completing items on the list. Submit an entry by emailing photos corresponding to the Scavenger Hunt list to be entered in the contest for prizes from Driftless Multimedia, sponsors and our local partners. The first 100 participants entering photos earning 250 points will receive a complementary t-shirt.
Participation is open to the general public. Driftless Multimedia, LLC employees may participate, but are not eligible to win. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited or restricted.
HOW TO EARN ENTRIES:
All photos properly submitted in connection with the Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt will be reviewed by the Organizer, Driftless Multimedia, to ensure the submission complies with the stated Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt location. A 50-point photo will be taken in the corresponding establishment with a purchase made there. A 20-point photo will be taken at the location corresponding to the clue provided on the Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt list. A 10-point photo can be taken at any location corresponding to the stated Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt list. Photos not in compliance will be rejected and the entry will be deemed uncompleted. The decisions of the Organizer will be final and binding in all matters related to the Driftless Bites and Sites Scavenger Hunt.
Entry photos must be emailed to contest@driftlessjournal.com by 9/7/23 at 5 p.m.
200 points earns a player their first prize drawing entry. Each additional 100 points collected earns players additional prize drawing entries. A player can earn a maximum of 1,300 possible points, equaling 12 total prize drawing entries per player. All eligible drawing entries will be entered into a random grand prize drawing. Only one prize per participant. The first 100 participants entering photos earning 250 points will receive a complementary t-shirt. One t-shirt per participant, up to 100 participants.
Winners will be announced by the end of September 2023 in the Driftless Journal. All winners must claim their prize within 30 days. No prizes will be mailed. If the prize is not claimed, Organizer will draw another name until the prize is claimed. Except where prohibited, participation in the contest constitutes participant’s consent to publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation.
By emailing photos, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Organizer. Organizer reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this contest as solely determined by the Organizer. In the event the contest is compromised by non-authorized human intervention or tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Organizer which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the contest, Organizer reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the contest. Should the contest be terminated prior to the stated drawing date, Organizer reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.
By entering the contest, participants agree that (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved informally without resort to any formal claims, causes of action or dispute resolution proceedings; (2) any claims shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the contest, but in no event attorney’s fees; and (3) under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain any award for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any participant and Organizer, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the valid or enforceable provision was not contained therein.
By entering this contest, participants release Driftless Multimedia, LLC, as well as their affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives, partners and agents from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with any contest or with the acceptance, possession or use of any prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light.)
This contest is organized by Driftless Multimedia, LLC (the “Organizer”) whose decisions regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of any contest or any prize shall be final and binding in all respects. Organizer will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to any contest or prize.
Participants agree that all photo submissions, regardless of the age of those pictured, may be used in print and on social media by Driftless Multimedia, LLC.
