By Kate Klimesh,
Readers may have noticed the new layout and size of the Driftless Journal this issue, it’s called a “broadsheet” size page. This will be the new normal size for both publications printed under Driftless Multimedia, the parent company of both the Driftless Journal and the Decorah Public Opinion (formerly Decorah Newspapers).
There have been a few changes to Driftless Multimedia over the 19 months since taking ownership. The office has moved to 110 Washington St., Decorah, Suite 4 (back of the hall).
The Driftless Journal, out Tuesdays, is a free publication distributed to a region in Winneshiek, Allamakee and Fayette Counties in Iowa, and Houston and Fillmore Counties in Minnesota, totaling over 20,000 copies. This publication does not offer subscriptions, but is sent to postal routes as a whole. The Driftless Journal does not include full obituaries, nor legal publications.
The Decorah Public Opinion, published Thursdays, is a subscription-based local newspaper for Decorah and Winneshiek County news. This publication is a certified Iowa newspaper, and does include full obituaries and legal notices, in addition to local news coverage. This newspaper prides itself on reporting issues relevant to the local area in detail, with an eye for accurate information.
In business, and especially the newspaper business, the only constant is change. Adapt, reinvent, and most importantly, reflect the communities served with news that is verifiable, educational, entertaining, inspiring and engaging. We are proud to be able to continue to report on local stories in both publications and share the area’s good news.
