Winneshiek Medical Center Foundation and Nutrition Services are partnering with Northeast Iowa Community Action to provide Christmas meals to area families.

Each year the nutrition services team at WMC prepares Christmas Dinner meals for purchase, and in 2017 the idea came about to donate meals to families.

Chad Wurtzel, nutrition services supervisor shares, “For as long as I can remember I’ve been working on Christmas Day to help prepare these meals. My parents actually help too by volunteering for various duties – meal delivery, bussing tables, and plating food. It has turned into a family tradition. In 2017, we (WMC) decided to extend this service, and partner with a local agency to donate meals for area families.”A minimum donation of $12 will provide one full-course meal on Christmas Day. Those interested may give by calling 563-387-3129, mailing a check to WMC Foundation at 901 Montgomery Street, Decorah, IA or visiting www.winmedical.org/donate.The dinner will include honey glazed baked ham, garlic mashed potatoes, whole green beans, corn casserole, coleslaw, dinner roll, cranberry sauce, and apple pie. Those interested in placing an order can do so at www.winmedical.org.

Order deadline is Dec. 19 at noon.
