A fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 23, to raise funds for former Driftless Multimedia News Editor and longtime Field & Stream Magazine writer, Scott Bestul, as he continues his battle with cancer.

The Saturday, March 23, fundraiser will be held from 2-8 p.m. at Nordic Lanes in Rushford, Minn. Proceeds from food, hunting and food plot raffles, gun boards and a silent auction will go toward Bestul’s medical expenses. The event will also feature a special whitetail seminar by Randy Flannery, whitetail tracking expert and owner of Wilderness Escape Outfitters in Maine.

Bestul, a resident of rural Lewiston, Minn., was diagnosed in November 2022 with a form of Sarcoma that is not responsive to chemotherapy. He is currently undergoing immunotherapy treatments using an experimental drug.

Event coordinators posted on the Facebook event page, “The tumor has decreased in size, which is good news! Let’s come together to raise money for Scott’s medical expenses and to ease the burden so he can focus on beating this!”

Those who can’t attend the event but wish to contribute can visit https://gofund.me/e8ad74af.

For more information or to donate to the silent auction, contact event organizers Heather (715-415-3934) or Stephanie (507-459-1151).
