The Winneshiek County Historical Society will host the annual meeting and open house on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is to be held at the home of the Historical Society at 302 S. Mill Street, Decorah.
This come-and-go event is a planned as a great opportunity to see the new displays, check out the first floor of the famous house, and enjoy refreshments. Paid members will also be casting their votes for board members. This is a great chance to inquire about becoming a member yourself!
Organizers said there will be remarkable displays on Layton Huffman, an American photographer of Frontier and Native American life, who was born in Winneshiek County. Those attending also will find fascinating items and historical information from the famous Decorah Kilties, a group formed in 1876!
