Join Iowa PBS for a new event series connecting you to a variety of local experts specializing in cooking, DIY, or arts and culture. Ask the Expert attendees will gain knowledge, a skill or simply experience something new that cultivates their current passion or improves their quality of life. These free, interactive events will be available virtually to include participants from all across Iowa and to allow them to “Ask the Expert” questions live during the program.
Iowa PBS will host the first Ask the Expert event focused on canning, freezing and drying garden produce with its partner, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach on September 12 at 6 p.m. Preserving summer produce can be done simply, safely and economically, allowing you to enjoy the vibrant flavors of the season throughout the year. In this free Ask the Expert session, attendees will meet on Zoom to learn how to preserve foods safely at home. Participants will be able to ask questions in the chat about their specific processes, best practices and more.
Friends of Iowa PBS Foundation Donor Engagement Manager Darla Hassebroek said, “This quarterly series can help ignite your interests and create an interactive space where your questions find immediate answers. Join us in cultivating a community of curious minds!” Topics for future Ask the Expert events may include birding, photography, baking and more.
