Jones sentenced to 27 months for felony theft

After a medical emergency, a forged doctor’s note, and a rescheduled hearing postponed three previous sentencing appearances, Mindy Jones’ fourth court appearance Friday, March 29, finally found purchase, as she was sentenced for her December 2023 conviction of eight counts of felony theft.  

Presiding Judge Jeremy Clinefelter handed down the sentence of  27 months in prison, with a minimum of 18 months to be served and the remaining nine months to be supervised release.

The first pretrial hearing for Jones’ charges of arson and animal cruelty in Allamakee County is set for Monday, April 1 morning via teleconference.
