Observing Flag Day June 14

The Winneshiek County Courthouse has a repository to dispose of unserviceable flags.

Tuesday, June 14, is Flag Day, a day honoring the national flag. Just as Americans are encouraged to fly U.S. flags this day, they are reminded to consider the condition of their flag. Most outdoor flags can be laundered gently. Damaged flags can be repaired and used as long as the overall dimensions are not noticeably altered. The Winneshiek County Courthouse has a repository to dispose of unserviceable flags.
The Calmar American Legion Auxiliary Unit has American flags from the State Capital available for purchase all year long at Klimesh Motors in Calmar.
