Oneota Valley Community Orchestra (OVCO) celebrates a return to live concert performances on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. in the Decorah High School Auditorium.

Oneota Valley Community Orchestra (OVCO) celebrates a return to live concert performances on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. in the Decorah High School Auditorium.

Award-winning OVCO Music Director Matthew Cody will conduct the orchestra.

The 2021-22 Season opening concert titled Tchaikovsky “1812 Overture,” introduces OVCO’s ninth concert season. The program will highlight two American composers George Walker with Lyric for Strings and Florence Price with Symphony No. 1 in E minor. Also included in the program are composers Richard Wagner with Overture to Rienzi and Pyotr IIyich Tchaikovsky withThe Year 1812 solemn Overture, Op 49.

Presenting both traditional and contemporary symphonic repertoire, the OVCO concerts are provided free of charge, and connect throughout the breadth of the community. OVCO is thankful to the season sponsor, Marion E. Jerome Foundation, and program contributors who make these concerts possible.
