A pancake breakfast fundraiser will be held at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Organizers said after a successful fair in 2024 ‘Pancakes on the Patio’ will be held rain or shine at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds Community Building with serving time from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The meal will consist of pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, cheese curds, milk, orange juice, and coffee. It will be freewill offering and carryouts will be available.
Fair Board members reported this past year has been a very active year at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds. Among the many physical improvements at the fairgrounds this past year include the new Bill Spilde Press Box/Bayer Crop Science Suite, new shingles on grandstand roof, replacement of Luren Stand back floor and improved drainage and cosmetic improvements between grandstand and Community Building, enhanced lighting in the racetrack area as well as new fence on west end of track, refurbishment of kitchen floor in community building, and improvements to drainage to lower bathrooms. The Winneshiek County Fair Board also held a free community appreciation concert to show gratitude for the tremendous community support received this past year. The concert featured the local band Not Quite Brothers during fair week.
The facilities on the fairgrounds are available year round for public use.
All proceeds from the ‘Pancakes on the Patio’ fundraiser go towards fairgrounds capital improvement, including improvements to youth livestock facilities and grandstand.
