Pave the Way 5K is June 12

 Proceeds raised from the 5K will be placed toward resurfacing the Calmar Lutheran Church parking lot.

South Winneshiek students Chance Adam and Chase Adam will host a Pave the Way 5K Saturday, June 12 as part of a 4-H County Council Leadership project. Proceeds raised from the 5K will be placed toward resurfacing the Calmar Lutheran Church parking lot.

The 5K will start and end at Calmar Lutheran Church, 200 North East Street, Calmar. The 5K route will travel down E Lewis Street, cross Highway 52 by Kwik Star, go to the Prairie Farmers Recreational Trail, and then return the same way. Signs will be placed along the route and volunteers will be present to direct runners and walkers. 

There is a $25 registration fee to participate in the event.  Event T-shirts are included in the registration fee of those signing up prior to Wednesday, May 26.  Same-day registrations will be accepted.  Refreshments will be served at the end of the race.  Medals will be awarded to the top three male and the top three female finishers. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.
