Decorah Police
On Friday, Oct. 15, at 11:35 a.m., Decorah Police responded to a disturbance on Ridgewood Drive in Decorah. After investigation, Iesha Nailing, 28, of Decorah, was arrested and subsequently charged with burglary 1st degree, unlawful possession of prescription drug and no valid driver’s license.

Decorah Police arrested Ethan Hoppe, 23, of Cresco on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 2:43 a.m., in the 1000 block of Short Street in Decorah for operating while intoxicated, first offense.

Decorah Police responded to the 800 block of Decorah Avenue Friday, Oct. 8, at 1:33 a.m.,  for a three-vehicle, hit-and-run accident. Upon arrival, it was determined a 2015 Volkswagen Passat had struck two legally parked vehicles. The driver of the Passat fled the scene prior to the police arriving on the scene. Tyler Lund, 30, of Mabel, Minn., was later apprehended for public intoxication and on a valid Howard County warrant. Police determined Lund was the driver of the Passat, and he was cited for multiple traffic violations related to the hit-and-run.

Decorah Police Department located a male asleep near Northeast Security Bank Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 9:49 p.m. After further investigation Morgan Mark Gavle, 27, of Decorah, was arrested for public intoxication.

Winneshiek County Sheriff
Jon Moreland, 41, was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants in Clayton County Thursday, Oct. 14. Moreland will remain in custody in Clayton County. Upon release from the Clayton County Jail, he will be transported to Winneshiek County on outstanding Winneshiek County arrest warrants. Moreland had previously been identified as the male subject who had reportedly abandoned a vehicle and fled on foot in a remote area of Glenwood Township. Winneshiek County law enforcement had been looking for Moreland since the original Sept. 3 report. 

While incarcerated in the Winneshiek County Jail, Sara Staake, 33, of Fairfax, was served with two arrest warrants out of Linn County, for voluntary absence from custody and possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) Friday, Oct. 15, at 1:20 p.m.

Winneshiek County Sheriff’s officers were called to an accident Friday, Oct. 15, at 4:12 p.m., on the Frankville Road east of Decorah. Johathan Sanchez, 21, of Postville, reportedly fell asleep and went into the ditch on the road, striking a guide wire for a power pole. His vehicle sustained approximately $12,000 in damages. No injuries or citations were reported.

Amber Suckow, 38, of Decorah, was cited for following too close following an accident Saturday, Sept. 25, at 12:06 a.m., on Highway 52. Her vehicle was following a vehicle driven by Cheryl Carolan, 61, of Decorah. Carolan had slowed to turn into a private drive. Suckow did not slow down or brake, tried swerving to avoid the collision, but her vehicle struck Carolan’s vehicle. Suckow’s vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 in damages and Carolan’s vehicle had $4,000 in damages. No injuries were reported.
 
Christopher Martin, 36, of Calmar, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail Sunday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m., on a charge of felony domestic abuse assault.
