Officers arrested 43-year-old Jody Duane Shipp of Decorah Wednesday, May 12 at 6:50 p.m., for public intoxication in the 100 block of East Water Street. She was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.

Christopher Koch, age 36, of Decorah, was arrested Sunday, May 16, and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on a charge of C felony willful injury – causing serious injury. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol responded to a rollover accident near the intersection of Old Stage Road and Glenville Road Saturday, May 15, at 6:30 a.m. The driver was gone from the scene, but returned to the scene transported by his brother. Brandon Gulrud, age 18, of Decorah, identified himself as the driver who was involved in the accident. Brandon Gulrud refused treatment at the scene of the accident but subsequently requested medical treatment and was transported by law enforcement to Winneshiek Medical Center. During the investigation of the accident law enforcement determined two brothers had been drinking and were intoxicated. Cael Gulrud, age 18, was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail for operating while under the influence. The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Decorah Fire Department and Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office. The accident investigation is ongoing with charges pending the results of chemical testing.

Nicholas Thornton, age 32, of Garnavillo, was arrested Saturday, May 15, and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail Saturday, May 15 at 7 p.m., on a failure to serve jail time arrest warrant.
