Reports from the Decorah Police

A caller reported to law enforcement Jan. 16 at 7:01 p.m. of a male subject, identified as Travis McIntyre was attempting to contact her while a valid no contact order was in place. Upon arrival at the 900 block of River Street, a male was seen leaving the reporting party’s property. When confronted by Decorah Police, McIntyre did not respond to lawful commands and continued to walk away. After a brief altercation with the police McIntyre was apprehended and placed under arrest for violation of a no contact order. During apprehension McIntyre resisted rest, threatened arresting officers, and assaulted a Decorah officer. McIntyre was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail and charged with: Violation of a no contact order, harassment in the 1st degree, interference with official acts, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and assault on a peace officer. The Decorah Police Department was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s office, Iowa State Patrol, and the Winn Med ambulance / hospital.

Decorah Police were dispatched to 705 Ridgewood Drive in Decorah Jan. 4 at 4:20 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. After police investigated, police arrested Warren Harvey, 29, of Decorah for domestic abuse strangulation. Harvey was transported to the Howard County jail without incident. Decorah Police were assisted by Winneshiek County Communications Center and Howard County Jail.

Decorah Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Old Stage Road in Decorah on Jan. 7 at approximately 12:56 a.m. After thorough investigation it was determined that the driver of the stopped vehicle was under the influence. Subsequently, Maxwell Lee Brauer, 41, of Decorah, was placed under arrest for operating while under the influence 2nd offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. Decorah Police Department was assisted by Winneshiek County Deputies, Winneshiek County Dispatch and Winneshiek County Jail staff. 

Decorah Police Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Water Street and Day Street Jan. 12 at approximately 2 a.m. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined that the driver was under the influence. Subsequently, Kaleb Jamal Wikert, 24, of Decorah was placed under arrest for a operating while under the influence 1st offense, a serious misdemeanor. The Decorah Police Department was assisted by Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office, Winneshiek County Dispatch and Winneshiek County Jail staff during this incident.

Officers were called to an accident Jan. 19 at 7:30 a.m. on County Road W14 and Madison Road. A vehicle driven by Jennifer Larson, 34, of Cresco, was traveling south on County Road W14, when her vehicle was struck on the left side by a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Logen Ollendieck of Ridgeway. Ollendieck was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. Damages totaled $16,000 to the two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
