Reports from the Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Office

Charges have been filed in a joint investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS). The owner of the Oran Locker, Todd William Briddle, 53, of Readlyn was charged with two counts of fraudulent practice 5th degree. Two counts of prepaid and offered for sale and transportation adulterated and misbranded meat or products. All four counts are simple misdemeanors, and he will appear in court on a later date to face the charges.

A Fayette County Deputy took custody of 39-year-old Robert Williams of Postville on May 27. After a month-long investigation, it was learned Williams had been abusing his victim inside their shared residence and at often times would not allow his victim to leave the residence. Williams was located and taken into custody outside a residence in the city of Postville. Williams was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he was charged with two counts of domestic abuse and false imprisonment. Williams was later released on a $12,000 bond.  Fayette County was assisted by West Union Police Department and Postville Police Department.
