Reports from the Winneshiek County Sheriff

Winneshiek County deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on County Road W42 Dec. 20 at approximately 4 p.m. Subsequently, Jeremy Franzen, 50, of Decorah, was charged with simple misdemeanor criminal mischief 5th degree and reckless driving.

Deputies responded to a disturbance Dec. 24 at 2:23 a.m., on Highway 42 in Calmar. Subsequently, Jacob Riniker, 22, of Elkader, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for simple misdemeanor public intoxication and simple misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Kristen Fravel, 25, of Waukon, turned herself into the Winneshiek County Jail Jan. 7. She was arrested and booked on an arrest warrant for failure to serve jail time.

A Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a single vehicle collision Jan. 13 off of College Drive. The officer found four of the five vehicle occupants were in an ambulance and taken to Winn Med Hospital for evaluation for minor injuries. A fifth passenger walked to a nearby residence and later went to the hospital by private vehicle. The vehicle was westbound on Grandview Road when it lost traction on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle continued off the roadway, hitting a tree in the south ditch. The driver of the vehicle was William Duder, 16, of Decorah. Damages to the 2001 Lexus SUV he was driving were estimated at $10,000.
