Reports from the Winneshiek County Sheriff

A search warrant was executed at a residence on Railroad Street in Ridgeway June 6 at 7:43 p.m., as part of an ongoing investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office. Adam Carson, 36, of Ridgeway, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail as a result of the investigation. He was charged with D felony controlled substance violation and D felony failure to affix drug stamp. This is an ongoing investigation, with additional charges pending.

Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office received a report June 11 of a vehicle rollover on Main Street in Calmar. Upon arrival, deputies found 83-year-old Lois Frana of Ossian trapped in the vehicle. She was extricated from the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV via the Fire Department. The driver was then transported to Winn Med with non- life-threatening injuries. Witnesses stated the driver was eastbound on Main Street at a high rate of speed when she collided with the back of a 2011 Jeep Wrangler which was legally parked along the south side of main street in downtown Calmar. An estimated $2,000 in damages was reported to the Jeep Wrangler SUV and deputies reported the Frana vehicle was totaled with $6,000 in damages. A full accident report will be needed.
