Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Jan. 10 at approximately 3:15 p.m. at a residence on 370th Street in Freemont Township, Northwest Winneshiek County. As a result of the search warrant, three subjects were located, arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail. Curtis E. Lacey, 38, of Cresco, was charged with aggravated possession of controlled substance, 2nd (methamphetamine), serious possession of controlled substance, 2nd (marijuana), D felony child endangerment (meth exposure) and D felony gathering where controlled substances are used. Francis (Frank) A. Martinek, 54, of Cresco, was charged with D felony possession of controlled substance, 3rd or subsequent (methamphetamine). Michelle K. Clark, 35, of Decorah, was charged with serious possession of controlled substance, 1st (methamphetamine). This was a joint investigation involving the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Postal Inspector Investigative Services, the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office. The Iowa State Patrol also assisted the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office with the execution of the warrant. This case remains under investigation with additional search warrants, arrests and charges pending.
Francis Chloupek, 44, of Decorah, was arrested Jan. 5 at 1:36 a.m. at 2490 172nd Ave., Decorah, and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for public intoxication.
Daniel Anderson, 64, of Decorah, was arrested Jan. 11 and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on an arrest warrant for failure to serve jail time.
Kaleb Wikert, 24, of Decorah, turned himself into the Winneshiek County Jail Jan. 19 on two arrest warrants for violation of probation. Wikert was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.
Norma McIntyre, 51, of Ridgeway, was charged Jan. 16 with simple misdemeanor theft, 5th degree (bad check) after an incident that occurred Nov. 22, 2023.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was contacted Dec. 3 at 2:23 a.m. about a theft of a Christmas tree from an apartment on College View Drive in Calmar. After further investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office and Calmar Police Department, four subjects were subsequently charged with serious misdemeanor trespass Injury or damage greater than $300. Those charged included Alyssa Derks, 19, of Caddott, Wis., Olivia Schaffer, 19, of West Union. Ashlee Numedahl, 19, of Decorah, Alaina Wunnecka, 20, of Caledonia, Minn.
Kristhian Monroy, 35, of Waterloo, was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability following an accident on County Road W14 Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. Investigating officers said Monroy’s vehicle was traveling north on W14 when he lost control and the vehicle left the roadway on the west side of the road. The vehicle went down a steep embankment, and hit a fence and fence post belonging to Ron Krivachek at 1517 County Road W14, Fort Atkinson.
