Seed Savers Exchange offers March 2 seed workshop

Decorah’s Seed Savers Exchange will offer a seed-starting workshop in Decorah March 2.

Participants are encouraged to drop by throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lower barn next to the Lillian Goldman Visitors Center at 3074 North Winn Road.

The workshop will be led by Seed Saver Exchange’s Greenhouse Coordinator Alan Kissinger. He will walk through the basics of seed selection, seed starting and transplanting; as well as providing tips for a successful year of gardening. Kissinger’s adventures in horticulture have taken him from his hometown in Ohio to Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, and ultimately to Iowa.

Participants will leave with their own seed starts. No registration is required. This event is free and open to the public.
