It isn’t an event without food! Enjoy traditional Norwegian desserts at this month’s Senior Adventures.
“October’s Senior Adventures program is guaranteed to be a treat,” shared Gerry Sorenson, Seniors Hospitality Center Program Chair. “Bring a friend and meet storytellers Betty Dowe and Carol Hagen.”
The Seniors Hospitality Center is holding its second Senior Adventures program on Friday, Oct. 8, at 1:30 p.m.
Local authors Carol Hagen and Betty Dowe will discuss their new books, “What’s in the Rømmegrøt?!” children’s book and “Strokes of Love” Rosemaling coloring and pattern book. In addition, attendees will be treated to homemade traditional Norwegian desserts from the “Rosemalers’ Recipes” cookbook, editor Betty Dowe. There will also be door prizes so plan to come early and stay late.
Participants are encouraged to invite a friend to join them at the Seniors Hospitality Center, 806 River Street, Decorah. Please RSVP by October 6, 2021, to Gerry Sorenson at 563-382-2669 if you plan on attending.
The Center will be hosting guest speakers on the second Friday of every month at 1:30 p.m. On Nov. 12, Genealogist Midge Kjome, from the Decorah Genealogy Association, will discuss the Association’s involvement in the new Winneshiek County Veterans Memorial, Mary Christopher Park, Decorah.
