Summer Reading Program kickoff May 31

Decorah Public Library recently announced the kickoff of its Summer Reading Program with a Picnic Party at Phelps Park.
In collaboration with Parks and Recreation, UpperExplorerland, ArtHaus, Sugar Bowl, and Winneshiek County Conservation, an evening of community celebration awaits guests May 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees are invited to join in the festivities, featuring live music by the Slapdash Bluegrass band. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and partake in outdoor games, arts and crafts, while enjoying the Phelps Park surroundings. Each attendee can enjoy a free scoop of ice cream from the Sugar Bowl’s mobile ice cream shop, as they Support is provided by  Friends of Decorah Public Library, the Decorah Methodist Church Trust Fund, and the Marion E. Jerome Foundation.
