Aaron Whittle took the stand in his own defense today, Monday, February 27.
On the stand, Whittle admitted under State scrutiny, “I killed Larry Whittle, not intentionally.”
Just prior to this, Whittle stated to prosecuting attorney Scott Brown, “He was dead because of my actions, yes.”
Brown asked Whittle to say the words I KILLED LARRY WHITTLE, at which time, Whittle said, “I killed Larry Whittle,” but added, “not intentionally.”
After his testimony was complete, both sides rested their cases. The court is currently at a brief recess and the jury sequestered while the judge finalizes jury instructions. The court case will continue this afternoon with final arguments from both sides before the case is turned over to the jury for deliberation.
