For more than 25 years, Winneshiek County Celebration of Life has provided Winneshiek County and area residents with caring programs for those affected by cancer and diagnostic screenings for the under-insured. They offer free mammogram screenings for under and uninsured women and men. They also fund “Fuel for the Fight” and “Food for the Fight” cards for individuals who live in Winneshiek County and/or who have their primary care provider in Winneshiek County and are in active cancer treatment.

True to the Celebration of Life, WCCOL has planned an event to celebrate their 25th milestone anniversary held Friday, Nov. 3, from 4 to 9 p.m., at Impact Coffee in Decorah. Abby Toone will entertain attendees at 4 p.m., and the Driftless Jazz Ensemble will play from 7 to 9 p.m. Additionally, a group photo of all Board of Trustees, who have or are still serving, will be taken at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend the milestone event.

While celebrating, they will continue raising funds for their vital mission. Impact Coffee will have a special drink menu, donating proceeds to Winneshiek County Celebration of Life to support their programs. There will also be a raffle, with a grand prize of $1,000 in cash drawn at 9 p.m., the night of the event (need not be present to win).

Raffle tickets will be available the night of the event at Impact and will also be available during October at KVIK, Margaret’s and Modish retail stores in Decorah or from the WCCOL Board of Trustees and Danielle Blackwell. The WCCOL 2023 Board of Trustees include Stephanie Cenek, Angela Hansen, Janelle Halverson, Peggy Lensing, Deb Tekippe, Margaret Walters, Julie Wurtzel and Maureen Yahr.

The Winneshiek County Celebration of Life members will be available for questions about their programs at the event and will have applications on hand to apply for WCCOL programs. For more information, visit www.winneshiekcol.com or follow them on Facebook.
