Another winter storm warning starts Thursday night

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warrning for the Driftless area in effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.

Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations estimated at between 5 and 8 inches. Wind gusts may be as high as 40 mph.

The warning is in effect for portions of north central and northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin.

Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute Friday.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
