Anita was born Jan. 23,1929 to Peter and Mary (Kuennen) Kriener of Ft. Atkinson, lowa. She graduated from St. Lukes High School in 1947. She found the love of her life and married Godlove Busta on Sept. 20, 1949. Together they farmed the Busta farm and were blessed with six children.
She enjoyed being outdoors watching animals and crops grow. Every summer she had huge gardens, canned, and froze the produce. She helped with many 4-H projects, loved to sew, grow flowers, and gave many haircuts when kids were little. Anita had an amazing memory for family history. While on the farm, she also babysat grandchildren for 12 years. She was proud that she was able to drive her car until she was 91 years old. She was a member of St. John’s Guild and helped with CCD classes.
After moving off the farm in March of 2007, she had lots of time to bake and send goodies home with whoever came. Grand and great-grandchildren all have a blanket made by her to hug forever. She attended many sports events at Turkey Valley. When she couldn’t attend, she listened to them on the radio, keeping score the whole time. She especially enjoyed our euchre tournaments at our Christmas get togethers. Her life was all about her children, grand and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Jeanne (Dennis) Luzum, Decorah, David (Connie) Busta, Decorah; Susan Fisher, Toddville; Karen (Lonnie) Humpal, Decorah; Steven (Laura) Busta, Ft.
