Ann J. Haney, 80, of Waukon, died Friday, March 12, 2021, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon
Private family graveside services will be held at Iowa River Cemetery in rural Dorchester, with Pastor Bryan Robertson officiating. Cards and condolences may be sent to Karen Henning at 1646 Valdres Road, Decorah, IA 52101. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.
Ann Janette Haney was born Dec.10, 1940, in Wisconsin to Arnold Orlando and Olga Marie (Galstad) Lunde. When she was nine years old, they moved to Spring Grove, Minn., where she also attended school. On Dec. 20, 1958, Ann married Reginald “Skip” Fillmore Haney at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. The couple raised their family in the rural areas of Decorah and Waukon. When not busy raising her six children; Ann loved tending to her large garden and canning. She enjoyed cooking, whether that was animals Skip hunted or making Norwegian foods at Christmas time. Ann also liked taking walks. She will be remembered as a very kind, empathetic person who had an incredible strength. For almost 20 years, Ann took care of Skip after his health declined and also took on her own battles with breast and colon cancer.
Ann is survived by her children: Regina (Kevin) Ashbacher of Lansing, IA, Steve Haney of Holmen, WI, Dave Haney of La Crosse, WI, Brian Haney of Prairie du Chien, WI, and Karen (Lynn) Henning of Decorah, IA; grandchildren: Taylor and Tanner Haney, Gary, Scott, and Brett Gibbs, and Khloe Henning; her great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Roger Lunde of Spring Grove, Minn., and Janice Treffinger of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Skip in 2004; her daughter Pamela Haney in February 2021; and siblings: Ronald, Richard, Clarice, Larry, William Lunde, Toni Early, and Audrey Meyer.
