Arlys Lorraine Soeder, 92, of Waverly and formerly of Denver, Iowa, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Whispering Willows Care Center in Fredericksburg.
Arlys was born Dec. 2, 1931, in Decorah, the daughter of Helmer and Cora (Stoen) Orvella.
Arlys’s memory is honored by husband, Wayne Soeder of Denver; three children: David (Shelby) Soeder of Waverly, Diane (Chad) Main of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Daryl (Mary) Soeder of Plymouth, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lillian (Harris) Bruvold; brother, Willard (Eloise) Orvella; mother and father-in-law, Spencer and Violet Soeder; two sisters-in-law, Mavis Bigler and Wanda Anderson; and brother-in-law, DeVale Soeder.
Arlys has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private burial of her ashes will be at Washington Prairie Cemetery in Decorah.
Memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Waverly-Shell Rock School Foundation or Bremer County Historical Society.
