Barry M. Spalding, 77, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Iowa Veterans Home, in Marshalltown. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, May 5, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel, in Marshalltown. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the time of the services. Inurnment was at 2 p.m., Monday, May 8, at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery, in Marshalltown.

Barry was born Jan. 28, 1940, to Martin V. and Dorothy L. (Barrett) Spalding in Davenport. He graduated from Decorah High School. Barry served his country in the Marines.

He was united in marriage to Maxine (Roher) Quam in 1960. They later divorced. He married Barbara Spalding. She died March 7, 1984. He married Lorretta Spalding Dec. 31, 2003, in Rock Island, Ill. They later divorced. Barry was employed as truck driver most of his life. He was a member of the VFW, American legion, and the National Rifle Association.

Barry will be missed his four children; Debbie Barger of Indianola, Glenn Spalding of Vinton, Kathy Cotant of Cresco, Sandy Spalding of Battle Creek; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Julie Stufflebeam of Cedar Rapids.
