Betsey A. Erickson

Jesus called Betsey A. Erickson, 85, home Feb. 23, 2018. In her final days Betsey was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betsey was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Hesper, to Philip and Beth McMillen. She graduated from Mabel High School in 1950, married Truman Erickson Sept. 29, 1951, and raised three children.

Betsey enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards with her friends, painting, crafts, sewing, dancing, fishing, cooking and baking.

Betsey is survived by her children Kerry (Lori) Erickson of Mabel Minn., Colleen (Dennis) Glasrud of Lanesboro, Minn. and Rollis (Alexis) Erickson of Costa Rica; grandchildren: Tina (Bruce) Michels, Tonya (Adam) Tollesfsrud, Stephanie (Carl) Westby, Tyler (Sara) Erickson, Noah Erickson, Jessie (Heather) Erickson, Kristy Grunklee, Kelly (Kevin) Behnke and Karlyn Glasrud; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; love of her life, husband, Truman – they were married 50 years; sister, Wanda Narum; and brother-in-law, Lyle Narum.

A celebration of life is March 10, at Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel, Minn., at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. The Mengis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
