Beulah J. Markusen, 79, of Clifton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Springfield Regional Medical Center Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. Family and friends will gather from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning, Jan. 13, at Grace Baptist Church located at 109 N. Main, Cedarville Ohio. The funeral is at 11 a.m., with lunch for close friends and family following at noon. Internment will occur at a later date at North Cemetery in Cedarville, Ohio.
Beulah is survived by her husband, Erling Markusen, a rancher from North Dakota who was her highschool sweetheart. They married after becoming reacquainted at their 1987 high school reunion in Minot, North Dakota. Erling provided loving and attentive care to Beulah for nearly 30 years. Beulah is also survived by her daughter, Susie Ruby (Carl); granddaughters Meagan (Micah) Wagner, Kelsey Ruby, Erin (Nick) Wagner, Leah Ruby; brothers, Ed (Bonnie) Monson and Jerry (Jan) Monson, sister-in-law Shirley Monson, brothers-in-law Leonard (Margie) Markusen and Stanley Markusen and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hjalmer and Anna Monson of Bottineau, N.D. and her brother, Eng Monson, of Columbus, Ohio.
Beulah was born May 13, 1938, in Bottineau, N.D.. She graduated from Dakota Lutheran High School in Minot, N.D. Prior to marrying Erling, Beulah lived in Decorah on a dairy farm and worked at a dentist’s office and Aase Haugen Nursing Home. After marrying Erling, Beulah lived on a ranch near Towner, N.D. Beulah’s primary interests were her family, her home, and her church. She and Erling are members of Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, Ohio. From an early age Beulah placed her faith in Jesus Christ and she died knowing that she would soon be with Him. We take joy in knowing that she is now with family, friends, and her Savior.
