Camilla Taylor

Camilla Taylor, 95, of Spillville, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Hampton. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with Rev. Robert Gross officiating. Organist was Jeanette Dietzenbach. Cantor was Dan Silhacek. The St. Wenceslaus Choir sang “You Raise Me Up,” “You Are Mine,” “On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother,” “In This Very Room,” “Going Home” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Lectors were Lucas Taylor, Lindsey Flannery and T.J. Taylor. Offertory gift bearers were Camilla’s grandchildren. Eucharistic ministers were Dick and Judy Taylor and Ashley Wenthold. Casket bearers were Camilla’s children. Interment was at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, Spillville. Arrangements were handled by Balik Funeral Home, Spillville.

Camilla Mary (Tupy) Taylor was born Feb. 10, 1921, to Arthur and Anna (Karnik) Tupy on the family farm near Little Turkey. Camilla attended Country school. She married Richard Taylor Aug. 28, 1944, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Little Turkey. Together they farmed for many years until they retired and moved to Spillville in 1981. Camilla enjoyed baking for her family. Her faith and family were very important to her.

Camilla is survived by five sons: Dick (Judy) Taylor, New Hampton; Ron (Carolyn) Taylor, Rineyville, Ky.; Lores (Lynn) Taylor, Rochester Minn.; Dave (Donna) Taylor, Spillville; John (Barb) Taylor, Spillville; one daughter, Ann (Alan) Wenthold, Ft. Atkinson; grandchildren: Tamie (Shanon) Maloy; Renae (Jared) Grimes; T. J. (Karen) Taylor; Jennifer (Jason) Howell; Christopher (Sarah) Taylor; Shandra Taylor; Kari (Don) Taylor-Evans; Karla (Mike) Clay; Meghan (Vincent) Barry; Michael Taylor; Shannan Aberle; Josh (Laura) Taylor; Jackson Taylor (special friend, Brandy Boczkowski); Isaac Taylor; Derek (Amy) Taylor; Lucas Taylor; Abby Buchheit (fiancé, Andrew Drenth); Lindsey (Ryan) Flannery; Ashley and Kiersten Wenthold; great-grandchildren: Douglas (Ashley) Feldmann; Eric Feldmann, Lexie, Bryce, Grace and Dylan Maloy; Savannah and Aiden Grimes; Cassandra Youngblut; Audrey Howell, Nolan Richie; Mason Taylor-Evans; Ian and Mya Clay; Noah and Nicholas Barry; Kaycee and Payton Taylor; Brenden Aberle; Leni and Ari Taylor; Miah and Maddox Taylor; Evan and Owen Taylor, Camilla Taylor; and Declan Flannery; one great-great-grandchild, C.J. Camilla was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Sept 2003); her parents, Arthur and Anna (Karnik) Tupy; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kathy (Humpal) Taylor (May 1977); three brothers: Charles (Alice) Tupy, Jerome (Lillian) Tupy and Raymond (Mary) Tupy; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Angie (Louis) Loesch, Harriet (Larry) Frana, Stanley Klimesh and Howard (Clarabelle) Taylor.
