Carroll F. Inglett, age 79, of Decorah, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah following a battle with COVID-19.
Carroll was born Jan. 23, 1941 to Ervin and Frances (Iverson) Inglett on the family farm near Hesper, Iowa. He grew up on the farm helping his dad and later helping his dad and uncle, Arden, with carpentering. He enjoyed his John Deere tractors and loved driving them in the Steam Engine Days parade. He also enjoyed helping local farmers with field work.In January of 2012, he went to live at Wellington Place in Decorah. He enjoyed talking to the other residents and the friendships he made there. Carroll also enjoyed all of the extra activities they provided especially listening to Molly B.
Carroll is survived by his brothers Lowell (Elaine) of Decorah, Neil (Pat) of Janesville, Wis., and Dayl (Julie) of Ames; Carroll’s six nieces and nephews, and their families: Tami (Rick) Fencl – Erin (Dan) Hougen and Reina and Rilyn – Christopher (Rachel) Fencl, and Bergen; Tina (Dale) Hovden – Kelsey (Paul) Seabrooke, Kenzie Hovden: Christine (Del) Immel – Emily and Evan; Patrick (Erika) Inglett – Memphis, Greyson, and Malachi; Stephanie (Patrick) Erb – Hunter and Brooklyn; and Nicholas Inglett.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Frances Inglett, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Graveside service will be 1 PM, Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 at the Hesper Lutheran Cemetery. Hesper. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:30 on Thursday at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel. COVID-19 precautions will be practiced.
