Charles Peterson

Charles Hubert Peterson of Decorah died Nov. 4, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Rosendahl) Peterson of Decorah; three children: Diane Munkel (Ken) of Des Moines, Larry Peterson of Decorah and Craig Peterson, of Ridgeway; one grandson, Cody Peterson (Suzie) Blaine, Minn., with three grandsons, Christopher, Jeramiah, and Luke.  Iowa Cremation Society is handling arrangements.

He was born Aug. 13, 1928, to John and Lenora (Danielson) Peterson. He married Rose Rosendahl Oct. 19, 1950. They were married 70 years. He spray painted early on, and started a car/airplane dealership alled Aero Auto Sales. He was a pilot and drove a race car with the number of 31x. He worked at Winneshiek County Hospital for many years as an EMT. He was an ambulance driver, and started a car business selling salvaged vehicles called Charlie’s Auto Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Ervin Peterson (Dorothy), Lucella Bender (Virgil), Doris Bender (Walter), Robert Peterson (Grace), John Peterson  Jr. (Lorraine), and Helen Hougen (Paul).
