CLAUDE BUCHEIT, 90, of Decorah, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was 2 – to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, and also after 10 a.m., at the church Monday morning. Claude is survived by his four children: Alyn (Lou Ann) Bucheit, Decorah; Claudette (Marty Hess) Bucheit, Onalaska, Wis.; Jenny (Gary) Klotzbach, Decorah; and Jody (Marilyn Headington) Bucheit, Decorah; nine grandchildren: Tara (Damian) McGrane, Bryan (Alexa) Bucheit, Kayla Bucheit, Emily (Mark) Schneider, Nathan (Mallorie) Klotzbach, Andrew (Jenn) Klotzbach, Seth Klotzbach, Sadie and Sully Bucheit. Ten great grandchildren: Christine, Cassius, Catalina, Caelius and Celia McGrane, Jocelyn Bucheit, Brinn and Reese Schneider, Harper and Everly Klotzbach; sister, Joan Schissel; brothers and sisters-in-law: Martha (Jerry) Samuelson, Decorah; Marian (Al) Schissel, Rice Lake, Wis.; Gordon (Dorothy) Willson, Rice Lake, Wis.; Dennis (Mary) Willson, Marion; along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen, May 1, 2012; parents, Alphonse and Olivia (Schneberger) Bucheit; sister, Joyce Bucheit; brothers: Gerry (Mary) Bucheit, Adrian (LaVonn) Bucheit and Quintin (Marcelite) Bucheit; mother and father-in-law, Leo and Mary (Hyberger) Willson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald Schissel, Madelyn (Wilber) Wise, Rita (Bob) Lansing and Kathy Willson.
