He was born March 2, 2000, in Nassau Bay, Texas, to Connie L. (Dotson) Hechler and Kenneth L. Culpepper. In 2015 Cordell was adopted by Wayne Hechler.
Cordell was an avid motorcycle rider. He started riding motorcycles at a very young age, and got his very first bike at the age of nine from a very dear friend “Bobbie” for Christmas. He could be seen riding behind any of his family members as a passenger, and as he grew into a young man, he would be the one giving the rides and was often seen around town with his mom on the back of his or even her bike. He also enjoyed skateboarding and hanging out with his girlfriend, Alyssa, his sisters and brother and his many friends. He was very proud of his many accomplishments, pins and awards he received as a cadet at Lyman Ward Military Academy, such as marksmanship, sword drill and honor guard. He was selected to be a cadet leader upon returning for his senior year and recently attended Leaders Camp in preparation. Cordell was also a former student at Santa Fe High School, where he enjoyed the auto tech class. Cordell spent many hours working on motorcycles, four-wheelers, boats and his truck with his “Uncle” Mike. The memories that he created will be cherished by all who loved and knew him.

“There is nothing I can say that will bring him back. All his bright futures spread before us. But I will stand here all the same with you. My heart broken open with yours and remember what we have lost.” (Unknown).

He is survived by his parents Connie Hechler, Wayne Hechler, Kenneth Culpepper, grandparents: Bonnie Dotson, Nelda (Culpepper) Rhodes and husband Ralph; brother, Dallas Clifton and wife Rebecca; sisters: Starla Moinat Bell and husband David, Melissa Cruitt (Culpepper) and husband Chip, Janice (Culpepper) Baker and husband William, and Olivia (Culpepper) Martinez and husband Andrew, Ashley Hechler; girlfriend, Alyssa Morris; aunts and uncles: Glenda and James “BO” Henry, Carolyn and Jim Derrisaw and Nancy Garland; numerous nieces and nephews: Xayvion Moinat, Lyric Bell, and Norman Clifton; Sarah and Josiah Baker, Reagan and Shawn Israel and Kieran Martinez.
