Dean C. Wilson, 70, of Northgate Care Center in Waukon, died Oct. 16, 2019, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, from complications with pneumonia. A memorial service Oct. 21, at Decorah Lutheran Church. Pastor James Glesne and close family members and friends were in attendance.
He was born May 18, 1949, to Raymond and Eunice (Widmann) in Waterloo. He was a member of and baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He then attended Immanuel Lutheran school through eighth grade. He lived with his parents in Waterloo until their passing. He then moved to Country Winds in Cresco, then Northgate Care Center in Waukon.
Dean was a very social individual, a people-watcher, who enjoyed attending sporting events and family gatherings, and talking on the phone with friends and family.
He worked at Goodwill Industries in Waterloo and then at The Spectrum Network in Decorah.
He is survived by one brother, Larry (Jeri) of Decorah; nephew, Ted (Jill), Sam and Pete of Decorah; nephew,Tim (Andrea), Riley, Max and Renae of Decorah; and many Wilson and Widmann aunts, uncles and cousins in the Waterloo area.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents.
Fjelstul Funeral Home assisted the family with cremation services and preparation for the memorial service. His ashes will be interred at Garden of Memories in Waterloo at a later date.
