Donald Moen passed away at the age of 85 in Charlotte, N.C.
He was born to Albert and Ruby (Woldum) Moen in Decorah. He graduated from Decorah High School in 1954 and from Iowa State University in 1958. Later in life, Donald came back to his hometown to spend the summer months with his niece Kim Knutson. Donald loved helping her out on her place in Ridgeway. He enjoyed playing cards at the Haymarket with classmates and friends. He was proud at the age of 82 that he walked the 13 mile Decorah bike trail in a day. He also loved going to his sister Joanne’s place in Broken Arrow, Okla., to visit his niece’s Dawn and Resa and nephew Alan.
Donald leaves a wife Wanda and his only, beautiful and loving daughter Whitney and her family, Margaret Seltzer his sister-in law, Ruth Woldum and family; and the Gipp family of Decorah.
