Emil Frana, 89, of Decorah, died oSunday, July 14, 2019, at Accura Healthcare in Cresco. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. There is a rosary at 3:30 p.m. before the visitation. There will be a private family service at a later date. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Emil is survived by his wife Frances. Children: Louann (Mark) Ptacek, Protivin, IA; Ruth (John) Huinker, Decorah, IA and Peter Frana, Decorah. Grandchildren: Charles (Tiffany) Halverson, Louann (Joe) Rilling, Solomon (Rachel) Halverson, Uriah (Jordan) Halverson, Andrew (Andrea) Halverson, Lee (Kristy) Huinker, Jacqueline (Mike) Henning, Danielle (Noah) Balik, Steven (Courtney) Halverson. Great-grandchildren: Charlie, Johannah, Isiaah, Emma, Jackson, Mason, Mara, Evie, Sloane, Shea, Tate and Aunika. Sisters-in-law: Bev Steen, Waterloo, IA, Marion Anderson, Decorah, IA and Anita Anderson, Cedar Rapids, IA along with many nieces and nephews.

Emil was preceded in death by his son Roger in infancy. Parents: William and Mary (Havel) Frana. Brother: Cyril (Mildred) Frana. Father and mother-in-law: Gilbert and Luella (Jaastad) Anderson. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Loretta (Marc) Phillips, Irene (Gary) Groth, Clara (Leon) Williams, Almeda (Bob) Grindeland, Pauline (Ken) Kuene, Gordon Anderson, Donald Anderson, Herman (Lois) Anderson, Kate (Al) Holten and Carsten Steen.
