Evelyn Crawford Miller passed away Nov. 22, 2015, in Decorah, after 100 years of a good life, most of which was lived in Independence. A Celebration of Life service for Evelyn’s family is Dec. 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Independence. Memorials may be given to Arlin Falck Assisted Living, 911 Ridgewood Drive, Decorah, IA, 52101, or a charity of your choice.
For many years she served as the County Treasurer of Buchanan County, retiring in 1976. Evelyn is remembered as a kind, caring person who loved being with her family and enjoyed cooking, playing cards and solving word puzzles.
She is survived by two sons and their families: Brian, Stacey, and Kendall Crawford of Monmouth, Ill. and Gary, Beth, Brad and Tricia Crawford of Decorah; and five stepchildren and their families.
