Evelyn G. Zidick

Evelyn G. Zidick, 82, of Mexico, died at 10:03 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain in Mexico. She was formerly of Wabeno, Wis.; Decorah; Wasilla, Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. Memorial services were at 6 p.m., Sunday, June 4, at Pickering Funeral Home, with Pastor Donnaldo Sonntag officiating. Visitation was Sunday from 4 p.m. until service time. Burial is at a later date in Wabeno, Wis.

Evelyn was born in Wabeno Jan. 12, 1935, a daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Rusch) Aderholdt. She married Clement Zidick May 29, 1959, in Wabeno. Mr. Zidick preceded her in death July 20, 2009. She attended Wabeno High School and the University of Wisconsin. She was a faithful Badger and often wore fan apparel. She was an avid fan of college sports, especially anyone playing against Duke. Evelyn also loved solving crosswords and reading. Her favorite authors were Dana Stabenow and Diana Gabaldon. She was the costume mistress at Presser Performing Arts Center, and she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Joanna McClarey and husband Lawrence A., of Mexico; two brothers, Jerome Aderholdt and wife Carol, of Pickerel, Wis., and Clifford Aderholdt and wife Karen, of Townsend, Wis.; one grandson, Patrick McClarey; and multiple nieces, nephews, and many students that loved/hated her like a mother.

n addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and George.

Memorials may be made to Presser Performing Arts Center or to the St. John’s
