Memorial services for Frances Mae Osborn, 91, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Calmar, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, at Calmar Lutheran Church. Visitation is one hour before the service.
Frances Mae Clark was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Des Moines to Leo Crossing and Hazel W. [Greig] Clark. She married Aubrey Gerald Osborn Sept. 30, 1943. To this union two children were born: William Michael and Patricia Jane. Frances worked in the ordinance plant in Ankeny during World War II, and in retail sales for most of the remainder of her working life. Frances was a sweet, gentle woman with a wry sense of humor. She loved her family above all else. She was an enthusiastic follower of politics. She also loved gardening and animals (especially birds and giraffes).
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Hazel Clark; her sister, Dot Clark; her brother, Bill Clark, her beloved husband Aubrey Osborn, on June 13, 1998, and her son-in-law Parnell Albertson.
Fran is survived by her son, Michael (Judy) Osborn, of Pleasantville; her daughter, Jane Albertson, of Rochester, Minn.; her grandchildren: Debbie (Craig) Pepper and Steve, (Pam) Osborn, Aaron Albertson of Rochester, Minn., Brent (Donna) Albertson of Rochester, Minn., her great-grandchildren Brian (Kimberly) Osborn of Ankeny, Amanda (Aaron) Tuller of Ankeny, Hannah (Rodney) Mitchell of Ankeny; and six great-great-grandchildren.
