Gloria (Olafson) Erickson

Gloria Jean (Olafson) Erickson of rural Mabel, Minn., passed away March 8, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1948 in La Crosse, Wis. to Mervin and Adella (Erickson) Olafson. She attended rural schools. On Dec. 11, 1965, Gloria married Dennis Erickson. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Gloria enjoyed collecting elephant memorabilia, watching birds, reading, fishing, doing word finds and puzzles, gardening in her flower beds, and spending time with her family. Gloria always showed concern for others, checking on them and calling them on their birthdays.
Survivors include her children: Gerald (Erica) Erickson of Sanford, N.C., Dawn Erickson of Spring Grove, Minn., Scott Erickson of Rushford, Minn., and Tammy (Brandon) Braaksma of Monona.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; her siblings Ann Miller, Arlene Larson, Gordon Olafson, David (Sheri) Olafson, James (Pat) Olafson, Debby Klinski, Jeannie Lafayette, Sherrie (Clinton) Brainard, Ardell Olafson; and her sister-in-law, Darla.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis, her parents, one grandson, her brother Mervin Jr. “Skip” Olafson, and daughters-in-law Bethany Carol “Cookie” and Debbie Erickson. and her brothers-in-law.
Memorial services for Gloria will be held at 11 a.m.. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove,
Pastor Lane Zaffke will officiate. Visitation will held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service, at the church. Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is assisting the family with arrangements.
