Joseph Guyer

Joseph John Guyer, 43, of Cresco, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at his home.

Joseph was born Aug. 6, 1979 to Leslie Richard and Marcella “Sally” (Evans) Guyer in Waterloo. He attended Valley High School, earned his G.E.D. and attended one year at Upper Iowa University.

Joseph was married to Jamie Marie Fitzgerald, they later divorced. He was then married to Leanna Lane, they later divorced. On July 13, 2019, Jospeh was united in marriage with Bailey Nagel at Wildwoods in Ossian, Iowa. Throughout the years, Joseph worked as a Dairy Farmer on David and Kathy Scheevel’s Dairy Farm, owned and operated The Villager Restaurant in Canton, Minnesota and The CONEction in Cresco, Iowa. Joseph enjoyed cooking, working on cars, doing carpentry and remodeling and traveling to South Dakota. Joseph loved to be a jokester and could make anyone laugh in any situation.

Surviving Joseph are his wife, Bailey Guyer of Cresco; his 10 children, Hannah Guyer of Cedar Rapids,  Ashley Guyer of Independence,  Kaleb Guyer of Cresco, Tanner Guyer of Cresco, Jenna Guyer of Oelwein, Emily Guyer of Cresco, Victor Guyer of Cresco, Tristan Guyer of Cresco, Liam Guyer of Cresco, and Oscar Guyer of Cresco; seven grandchildren, Maniyah, Priscilla, Serenity, Lucah, Autumn, Joseph and Bailey; mother, Sally Guyer of Elgin; sister, Jamie Guyer of Nebraska; brothers, Travis (Sara Baker-Guyer) Guyer of Hawkeye, James Guyer of New Hampton, and Jericho Guyer of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Joseph in death were his father, Leslie Guyer and his grandparents, Victor and Jennie Guyer and Lawrence and Vera Voshell-Evans.

Services are pending with Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation service in Clermont.
