Kathleen J. (Dykeman) Conner, 74, a longtime resident of Chelmsford died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, surrounded by family at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of John C. Conner with whom she shared a loving 52-year marriage. Visitation is Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. Her funeral service is Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Road, Chelmsford. Interment will be private.
Born in Charles City Dec. 15, 1940, she was the only daughter of Donald and Palma (Peterson) Dykeman. Kathy was raised in Iowa and educated in Minnesota. She received a certificate in nursing from the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. For 25 years she was employed as a nurse by Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Burlington, having retired 12 years ago. Kathy was an active member at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Chelmsford. In addition to her husband, John, survivors include her sons- and daughters-in-law: Jerome and Kara Conner of Chelmsford, Mass.; Joel and Deborah Conner of Haverhill, Mass.; three grandchildren: Jeffrey, Matthew and Gwendolynn Conner; a brother, Loren Dykeman and his wife, Doris of Ankeny; a brother-in-law, Joseph Conner of Houston, Texas; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was the sister of the late Warren Dykeman and sister-in-law of the late James Conner.
