Kay Feil, 70, of Decorah, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs officiating. Lectors were Ellen Cutting and Maureen Tekippe. Organist was Mary Beth Bouska. Cantor was Cindy Schissel. Hymns were “Here I Am, Lord,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “Holy God” and “Ave Maria.” Casket bearers were Craig Cutting, George Tekippe, Tim Lynch, Tom Schroyer and Paul Cutting. Interment was at Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Arrangements were handled by Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah.

Kay Margaret Feil was born July 6, 1945, the daughter of John and Hermenegild (Dessel) Feil in Chicago, Ill. Kay moved to Ossian in 1947, at the age of two. She attended school at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Ossian and Calmar, graduating in 1964. In 1982, she moved to Decorah, where she worked at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in housekeeping for 10 years. She enjoyed living with her close friend, Judy Cutting, for 19 years. She loved the companionship of her cat, Sammy, and reading.

Kay is survived by many friends in Decorah.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hermenegild (Dessel) Feil; her brother, Paul Feil, in 1986; her close friend, Judy Cutting, in 2001.
