Lenard Eichten, 59, of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly June 3, 2017. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 15800 37th Ave. N. Visitation is at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials are preferred to the Nature Conservancy and the American Heart Association.
Lenard was born June 12, 1957, in Redwood Falls. He graduated from Loyola High School in Mankato and St. Johns University. Len served his community and family as president of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Minnetonka) school board, a supporter of Wayzata High School girls’ tennis, and as a Boy Scout leader. In financial leadership roles, he saw various Twin Cities companies through periods of growth and transition, most recently in the creative services field as controller at Clear Night Group and chief financial officer at Modern Climate. Len was a rock of his family, as gentle as he was strong. He was a lover of nature and an avid reader on diverse topics who enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Grace (Beard); sons, Chris and Jon (Alexandra); daughter, Caitlin; granddaughter, Sophia; parents, Stan and Agnes; siblings: Ken (Risa), Greg (Diane), Leon (Marian), Joleen Pfau (Jim), Jean Wilmes (Ron), Jim (Sue); nieces, nephews and many friends.
